Chin Augmentation
Many people have a chin which is either too small or too large for their face. When a person’s chin lacks adequate projection, the face is significantly weakened. Not only can this give a "bird-like" appearance, but it can also make the nose appear longer than it truly is.
Chin augmentation, or genioplasty, is a group of techniques designed to alter the size, shape, and projection of the chin. If your chin is not properly positioned or shaped, changing the chin can significantly improve your appearance.
Chin augmentation can be accomplished in several different ways. The two most common methods are placing an implant over the chin, or actually moving the bony chin itself. This procedure can be performed alone or in conjunction with other facial cosmetic procedures such as liposuction of the neck or a facelift.
